In the future, something happened. Nobody's really sure what happened exactly, but it left the world a smoldering, lifeless shell of its former self. Oh yeah, and now there's DINOSAURS! As if things weren't bad enough, those hardy enough to try and make new lives for themselves in this crazy, post-apocalyptic wasteland are plagued by the baddest gang of tyrannosaur-riding punk girls around: the T-Wrecks! Dinogeddon follows the strange exploits and misadventures of the T-Wrecks, led by the mysterious and oftentimes dangerous Ronnie Riot, and their rival gangs, the ex-military raptor-riding Rippers, and the all-male Rex Machines.
So... In this Dinosaur resurgent post-apocalyptic world, women have become scantily clad, dinosaur riding marauders, dominant in the social order, while men have fallen down to become passive home bound domestics? I am honestly finding this vision of the future to be far from as bleak as the title might imply. I mean, it has a Cadillacs and Dinosaurs vibe to it, but without the annoying Burroughs-esque influences. This I approve.
well, the comic follows two girl gangs in this world, but they are by no means typical, as i tried to establish with the little looks at an average community trying to rebuild in the beginning. and i'm not sure where the idea of men becoming solely domestic comes from...men and women are shown working alongside each other, and men were guarding the town. eventually there will also be a male gang, but i'm getting ahead of myself. ;) i prefer to think of it as an exploration of post-apocalyptic counter-culture, like movies that follow the hot rod or punk movements. they're interesting because they're outside the norms of everyday life for the average person!
